BI Developer (Tableau) - This role is not Hybrid, so you must be willing to come to the office 4 days a week.
Our client is leading the way in their industry. They are seeking a passionate Data Visualization Specialist. You will be responsible for developing and designing data visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate complex data insights to business stakeholders. You will collaborate with data engineers, data architects, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and create compelling visualizations using various tools and techniques.
This role is not Hybrid, so you must be available to work in the office four days a week.
What You Will Deliver:
Apply design and data analysis techniques to organize the presentation of data in innovative ways and collaborate with research analysts to identify the best means of visually depicting a story
Design and develop custom dashboard solutions, as well as re-usable data visualization templates
Interact with stakeholders to understand their needs and take a user-centred approach to develop and design interactive and visually appealing data visualizations that communicate insights to business stakeholders.
Work closely with data engineers to understand data requirements and ensure visualizations accurately represent the underlying data.
Query data using SQL, explore data sources and merge information from diverse data sources to create rich datasets that enable better decision-making
Create prototypes based on stakeholder requirements to confirm the report design meets the business need
Design, create, analyze, and maintain low-to-high complexity data visualizations, reports, and dashboards (using tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Excel) that are intuitive and help decision-makers answer questions
Present results and reports to internal business leads
Incorporate performance and data quality considerations into report planning and delivery
Manage requirements gathering sessions and the process, including creating documentation and tracking progress in shared collaboration tools (e.g., Asana)
Establish, communicate, and manage best practices for design and data visualization (e.g., chart selection and visual encodings) and help ensure that standards are being met Create and deliver end-user training and documentation on business intelligence deliverables
Conduct user testing to gather feedback and iterate on visualizations to ensure they are intuitive and functional.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving data visualizations and data-driven decision-making.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for the analytics visualization toolbox and guidelines.
Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data visualization and design.

What You Need to Succeed:
A university degree in computer science or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of experience in data visualization, analysis, or related fields.
5+ years’ experience with dashboard design and development. tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
Continuous look for areas of opportunity for improvement or automation to make visual data collection efficient or optimized.
Ability to work with large amounts of data and information to identify key trends, opportunities, and ways to improve our stakeholder experience
Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, colour, interaction design and fluency.
Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices, including data mapping, colour theory, and information design.
Experience with SQL and Python is required
Knowledge of statistical and data processing languages, such as R is a plus.
Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or equivalent is an asset
Experience with visual reports and dynamic dashboards design and development on platforms like Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
